In honour and memory of Hans Schenk, whom Exeter gave a membership to in 1939? when he and his brother fled from Vienna. I was taught by him for my paper on European 19C history. Later he tutored undergraduates from Wolfson College. I recommend his book ‘The Mind of European Romantics’ 1966 .
