Make a gift today to protect Exeter’s woodland and endangered grass snake population and be a conservation champion!

Thanks to the dedication of University researcher, Thomas Atikins, we have recently discovered that our well-hidden but precious parcel of woodland situated near to the College’s sports ground, is home to its very own knot of Grass Snakes.

The Grass Snake, one of only three types of snake that are native to the United Kingdom, has suffered a nationwide decline and is one of the rarest and most threatened species in the UK - but they are thriving in Exeter’s woodland – and you can help to protect and enhance their habitat today.

However, the urban position of this woodland, combined with the impact of the climate crisis, means that it is under threat. By making a gift today you will help to conserve not only this newly discovered population, but the woodland that they have made their home. Protecting these creatures, and their habitat, will also provide a unique, hands-on teaching and research opportunity for generations of students to come.

Make a gift today and protect this iconic British species and its home!
