There is still time for you to add your name to the next chapter of Exeter College Library’s great story!
So many wonderful names are woven through the story of Exeter’s Library – Tolkien, Pullman, Alan Bennett. And that’s to say nothing of the names inscribed on the windows by the glaziers, or on the beams by the carpenters who built the Library in the 1860s! Will you make a gift today and add your name, too?
This year has seen the full restoration of the Library. The restoration has seen the heating, ventilation, electrics all renewed for the 21st century. The number of reader spaces has been increased so that more students can enjoy the space and – crucially – a new lift has been installed, as well as a WC, making the Library accessible for the first time. Despite all this, the Library today looks more like George Gilbert Scott’s original design than it has over the last fifty years – so please don’t be concerned, your Library is just as atmospheric and beautiful as ever.
By donating this Giving Day, you can still get involved in this once in a generation project and make your mark. There are many naming opportunities - from bookplates (£250) to chairs (£2,000) and bookcases (£10,000), as well as everything in between!
Make your gift to the Library today.
